I was referred to Physical Therapy by my doctor for bursitis in my left hip. I decided to go to Spine & Sport because it was conveniently close to home and they are open Saturdays too. I am so glad that I went. The staff is amazing!!! I've worked with all of the therapist there and each one of them are knowledgeable and very caring to help with getting you on the right track to feeling better. I've been to another location where they treated me like I was taking up too much of their time but this location never made me feel that way. I highly recommend this location. Great Staff, Convenient Hours, and Overall Great Environment.

I was referred to SDSS by my doctor for lumbar/sciatica pain. The facility was easy to find, parking is great. I was immediately welcomed by name and Norma started my PT process with me with positive direction and caring. I did not feel self-conscious or unable, affirmation and patience is clearly part of this facilities treatment of patients! 3rd appt. Josiah was amazingly helpful with knowledge and specific info for my personal condition, as well as extremely caring! This team gets the work for improvement out of you with a comfortable and secure environment.

I think these people are fake nice. First of all, they don’t let you choose your therapist which seems wrong to me. I had to pay $37 copay twice a week so I should get to choose who I work with. My doctor referred me to this place and my initial appointment was with Carly so I expected to work with Carly the following appointments after that. I recently had a baby and she also had a baby so I felt more comfortable with someone who could relate to me rather than a male therapist. I kept asking the receptionist if I could be scheduled with Carly, and she said yes but then when I arrived to each appointment I got pawned off on the assistants instead. And if I didn’t ask then she would schedule me with Tom. Nothing wrong with Tom, I just felt more comfortable with someone who could relate to my situation like I said and often would have questions for Carly that Tom couldn’t answer. Towards my last couple of appointments they started having me work with the other assistant who was male which also wasn’t what I wanted and noticed Tom wouldn’t even say hi to me anymore and when I said hi to him it was obvious they told him I didn’t want to work with him. So now I feel awkward I just think they are fake nice and not professional in this office unfortunately. So if Tom ever sees this, it wasn’t against you personally, I just wanted to work with another woman who knew what I was going through, nothing wrong with you.

Absolutely horrible experience. The receptionist was very unhelpful. This is the second time that my mom went to the appointment and they had told her it was canceled. They ended up canceling all of her appointments because she went to the wrong location initially because she didn’t know they had moved locations being a previous patient. When she booked they didn’t tell her the location so she had went to the previous location that was closed and when she called and found out the correct address she was only going to be 10 min past her appointment time and they refused to take her. They said she can come in the evening (the same day) but she was unable to, so she said no I can’t today at a night appointment then just cancel it. Even tho she was only 10 min away for a miscommunication on their end. She let that slide becuz she had appointments for the following days. (today) was scheduled, and when she went in today They had canceled all her future appointments including the one today without her permission. She went in at her appointment time today and they said all of the appointments were all cancelled without her permission. The lady at the front desk was trying to squeeze her in due to it being their error but some lady from the back came out saying nope we are not taking her with no explanation and not knowing any of the details. Absolutely horrible horrible experience. This is absolutely ridiculous never coming here again.

Commonly Asked Questions & What to Expect During Your PT Treatment

Do I need to see a doctor first?

Thanks to direct access, we can see any patient without a referral from a doctor for an initial evaluation. If our therapists believe that physical therapy is a good option for your needs, we can work with you and your physician to obtain a prescription for continued care. If your diagnosis requires additional expertise, we can also refer you to a specialist to handle your care.

What do I need to bring to my first visit?

For your first visit, be sure to bring the following items:

  • Prescription for physical therapy from your referring physician (if applicable)
  • Government issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license)
  • Insurance card(s)
  • Patient forms, which can be downloaded from this site in PDF format. Print and fill out the forms completely and bring them during your first visit.
  • Patients who are minors (under 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for their first visit.

What should I wear to physical therapy?

Please wear or bring comfortable athletic/workout clothing to change into. This includes shorts or sweatpants, a t-shirt and sneakers. Your attire should also allow easy access to your injured area for treatment by your physical therapist.

What can I expect during my first visit?

During your first visit, your therapist will perform a thorough examination, in which he or she will review your physician’s recommendations, examine the problem area, ask questions about your injury or pain, develop an effective treatment plan for rehabilitation, discuss their findings with you and answer any questions you may have. Your treatment plan may include hands-on, manual therapy, a customized exercise program, stretching and physical agents such as heat, ice, ultrasound and electrical stimulation. Your physical therapist may also recommend a home program to further assist in your treatment.

How long will my appointment take?

Your first appointment will typically last from 45 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on your injury. Following appointments usually last between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the treatment. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your appointment for check-in and paperwork. You can also download our patient forms, which can be filled out beforehand and brought with to your appointment.

How often will I need to come?

The frequency of your treatment will depend on your physician’s prescription and the plan of care developed by your physical therapist. Most patients require treatment two to three times per week. The duration of treatment will depend on your injury and personal progress. Your physical therapist will discuss this with you following your initial exam and subsequently as you progress.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

If you are unable to attend an appointment, we require at least 24 hours' notice. However, we do understand than an occasional emergency or illness may arise, in which case you may have to cancel your appointment closer to your scheduled time.

Do you accept insurances? Will insurance cover my therapy?

We accept most major insurances including Medicare, Tricare and workers’ compensation plans. Before your initial visit, we will verify in and out of network benefits with your insurance company. The cost of therapy is determined by the benefits of your insurance plan, including the deductible and co-pay, or patient percentage. We are happy to check with your insurance company to determine the terms of your coverage. Payment for patient responsibility is due at the time of service.

Do you offer complimentary consultations?

We are proud to offer complimentary injury screenings with one of our certified licensed specialists who will discuss your area of discomfort and offer suggestions for next steps in care, if appropriate. For your convenience, consultations will last no longer than 15 minutes and are available over the phone or in person. To request a complimentary screening, after entering your ZIP code in the location look up, simply select 'Free Consultation' and proceed to fill out your information.
