Loved going here! I had an injury and was referred to do physical therapy at spine and sport, I choose to come here which is the closest branch to me. Really great decision! The staff and the professionals who help patients recover from injuries or problems painful body parts, are very good at what they do! Everyone is so nice and positive, and I want to say that Richard is really is great and feels good to work with him and all the other staff. Thank you for helping me heal my body! Feeling good. Hopefully I don’t have to come back, but if I need to I know I would be in good hands.

I was referred to this Spine and Sport location by my PCP because I’ve been dealing with chronic back pain for a long time, along with episodes of sciatica on the left side of my lower body after overextending during aerial silks. I specifically requested Richard, since I had read better reviews about him compared to the other PTs at this facility, and I thought I would be in good hands. After my initial assessment, Richard told me that he ultimately believed my back pain had nothing to do with my back, but was instead caused by issues with my lower body. He said we would work on strengthening both my lower body and my back, then scheduled me for PT sessions with him every Friday for the next few months. I left that appointment feeling confused and uneasy, with a strong gut feeling that something wasn’t right. How could my back pain have nothing to do with my back? I was completely baffled by his conclusion and decided not to return. I tried another PT afterwards, but unfortunately, that experience wasn’t helpful either, so I stopped PT altogether for a while. A couple of months later, my back pain became unbearable. I went back to my PCP and asked for X-rays, which revealed that I have severe degenerative disc disease at L1–L2 along with arthritis in my spine—something that had been developing for some time. So what does this say? Richard, the so-called “PT,” had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. I am stunned by this level of ignorance and negligence from a "professional". After a full assessment, he not only told me my back pain wasn’t related to my back—a claim that is about as absurd as it gets—but he also pushed me to commit to months of PT with him instead of referring me for further imaging or evaluation, which is what he should have done. Please avoid this place like the plague. It is a complete sham and a scam. The fact that I, the patient, had more sense than the person who is supposed to be a trained professional caring for people in pain is both alarming and unacceptable. Please get your PT care elsewhere!!

I give Richard Miller 5 stars for the amazing and caring physical therapist he is. He is so attentive and is always able to help multiple people at once. Bryan on the other hand is too preoccupied helping one person and forgets about the rest that there to start their session. Bryan needs to be more attentive and be able to help everyone just like Richard does. I told Bryan you haven't told me what to do at all. I was trying to remember what Richard has shown me to do while I was waiting for you to finally come over and talk to me and his excuse is he's busy. No that's not an excuse because if Richard is able to help 3 or 4 people at the same time then so can Bryan.

Commonly Asked Questions & What to Expect During Your PT Treatment

Do I need to see a doctor first?

Thanks to direct access, we can see any patient without a referral from a doctor for an initial evaluation. If our therapists believe that physical therapy is a good option for your needs, we can work with you and your physician to obtain a prescription for continued care. If your diagnosis requires additional expertise, we can also refer you to a specialist to handle your care.

What do I need to bring to my first visit?

For your first visit, be sure to bring the following items:

  • Prescription for physical therapy from your referring physician (if applicable)
  • Government issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license)
  • Insurance card(s)
  • Patient forms, which can be downloaded from this site in PDF format. Print and fill out the forms completely and bring them during your first visit.
  • Patients who are minors (under 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for their first visit.

What should I wear to physical therapy?

Please wear or bring comfortable athletic/workout clothing to change into. This includes shorts or sweatpants, a t-shirt and sneakers. Your attire should also allow easy access to your injured area for treatment by your physical therapist.

What can I expect during my first visit?

During your first visit, your therapist will perform a thorough examination, in which he or she will review your physician’s recommendations, examine the problem area, ask questions about your injury or pain, develop an effective treatment plan for rehabilitation, discuss their findings with you and answer any questions you may have. Your treatment plan may include hands-on, manual therapy, a customized exercise program, stretching and physical agents such as heat, ice, ultrasound and electrical stimulation. Your physical therapist may also recommend a home program to further assist in your treatment.

How long will my appointment take?

Your first appointment will typically last from 45 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on your injury. Following appointments usually last between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the treatment. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your appointment for check-in and paperwork. You can also download our patient forms, which can be filled out beforehand and brought with to your appointment.

How often will I need to come?

The frequency of your treatment will depend on your physician’s prescription and the plan of care developed by your physical therapist. Most patients require treatment two to three times per week. The duration of treatment will depend on your injury and personal progress. Your physical therapist will discuss this with you following your initial exam and subsequently as you progress.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

If you are unable to attend an appointment, we require at least 24 hours' notice. However, we do understand than an occasional emergency or illness may arise, in which case you may have to cancel your appointment closer to your scheduled time.

The cost of therapy is determined by the benefits of your insurance plan, including the deductible and co-pay, or patient percentage. We are happy to check with your insurance company to determine the terms of your coverage. Payment for patient responsibility is due at the time of service.
