Work Conditioning

When injury impairs a worker's ability to do his or her job, work conditioning can help. Acknowledged as a very effective form of treatment in the recent American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine guidelines, work conditioning therapies are custom-designed to accurately simulate the work environment and help the patient perform his or her job more efficiently or restore function to pre-injury levels.

Work conditioning programs include these components:

  • Specific analysis of job demands
  • Aerobic conditioning to increase stamina
  • Job-specific functional training
  • Strengthening exercises
  • Flexibility training
