Aquatic Therapy

When patients are unable to comfortably participate in land-based therapies, they can choose Spine and Sport’s aquatic therapy program. The physical and psychological effects of exercising in water translate into a positive therapeutic outcome for the patient. The water provides buoyancy creating a cushioning effect that protects the injured area from undue stress. The ability to swim is not a requirement to participate in aquatic therapy.

Some of the Benefits Include:

- Decreasing the natural loading on joints
- Minimizing pain and muscle spasm
- Facilitating earlier movement of the limbs, strength and endurance
- Providing natural traction
- Promoting relaxation

Aquatic therapy is available at most of our locations.
